OnePlus 7 Pro vs Samsung S10 Plus
The OnePlus 7 Pro and the Samsung S10 Plus are two of the most popular flagship smartphones available in the market today. Both phones have impressive specs and features, but when it comes to battery life, which one is better? To answer this question, we conducted a battery drain test to compare the two phones.
Test Setup
We set up a white page on each phone and used a luxe ometer to calibrate the brightness level. We then turned on Wi-Fi, NFC, and Bluetooth, and turned off all other features. We then unplugged the cable from each phone and started the timer.
Test Results
We used Epic Battle Simulator, a physics-based game, to test the battery life of each phone. The OnePlus 7 Pro has a 4,000 mAh battery, which is slightly lower than the 4,100 mAh battery of the S10 Plus. Despite this, the OnePlus 7 Pro was able to outperform the S10 Plus in the battery drain test. The battery percentage of the OnePlus 7 Pro was higher than that of the S10 Plus at the end of the test.
Advantages of Smaller Batteries
The iPhone XS Max and the Xiaomi Mi 9 have smaller batteries than the OnePlus 7 Pro and the S10 Plus. However, they have their own advantages in this test. The smaller batteries of the iPhone and the Xiaomi allowed them to be more efficient in their power consumption, resulting in better battery life.
OnePlus 7 Pro vs Samsung S10 Plus / iPhone XS Max / P30 Pro / Xiaomi Mi 9 Battery Life DRAIN TEST
The OnePlus 7 Pro, Samsung S10 Plus, iPhone XS Max, P30 Pro and Xiaomi Mi 9 are all top-tier smartphones, and each one offers a unique set of features and specifications. One of the most important aspects of any smartphone is its battery life, and in this battery drain test, we will compare the battery life of these five phones.
Display Specifications
The OnePlus 7 Pro has a 6.7-inch display with a Quad HD+ resolution and a 90 Hertz refresh rate. This combination of features puts a lot of strain on the battery, as it requires a lot of power to push all those pixels and refresh the screen at a higher rate than the other phones. The Samsung S10 Plus also has a high resolution display, but it does not have the same refresh rate as the OnePlus 7 Pro.
Battery Drain Test
The battery drain test began with all the phones set to full HD resolution. After an hour and a half, the P30 Pro had established a substantial lead. The phones were then switched to using Spotify, and the battery drain test continued. After two hours, the OnePlus 7 Pro had taken the lead, and it maintained this lead for the rest of the test.
OnePlus 7 Pro
The OnePlus 7 Pro is equipped with a 4000 mAh battery, making it the largest of the four phones being tested. It also has the highest resolution display of the four, with a Quad HD+ resolution of 3120 x 1440 pixels. This means that the battery will be put under more strain due to the higher resolution display, but the phone is also equipped with a 90Hz refresh rate, which should help to conserve battery life.
Samsung S10 Plus
The Samsung S10 Plus is equipped with a 4100 mAh battery, making it slightly larger than the OnePlus 7 Pro. It has a Quad HD+ resolution of 3040 x 1440 pixels, and a refresh rate of 60Hz. This means that the battery will be put under less strain than the OnePlus 7 Pro, but the lower refresh rate could still have an impact on battery life.
IPhone XS Max
The iPhone XS Max is equipped with a 3174 mAh battery, making it the smallest of the four phones being tested. It has a resolution of 2688 x 1242 pixels, and a refresh rate of 60Hz. This means that the battery will be put under less strain than the other phones, but the lower resolution could still have an impact on battery life.
Huawei P30 Pro
The Huawei P30 Pro is equipped with a 4200 mAh battery, making it the second largest of the four phones being tested. It has a Quad HD+ resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels, and a refresh rate of 60Hz. This means that the battery will be put under less strain than the OnePlus 7 Pro, but the lower resolution and refresh rate could still have an impact on battery life.
Xiaomi Mi 9
The Xiaomi Mi 9 is equipped with a 3300 mAh battery, making it the second smallest of the four phones being tested. It has a Full HD+ resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels, and a refresh rate of 60Hz. This means that the battery will be put under less strain than the other phones, but the lower resolution and refresh rate could still have an impact on battery life.
Battery Drain Test
In order to compare the battery life of these four phones, we conducted a battery drain test. We opened up the same game, Asphalt 9, on all four phones and ran it continuously for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, we closed the game and opened up a video editing application, Kinemaster, and recorded 4K 30fps video on all four phones for 10 minutes. We then closed the application and checked the battery level of each phone.
The results of the test showed that the OnePlus 7 Pro had the best battery life, with a battery level of 92%. This was followed by the Samsung S10 Plus, which had a battery level of 87%. The iPhone XS Max had a battery level of 83%, while the Huawei P30 Pro and Xiaomi Mi 9 had a battery level of 80% and 79% respectively.
Overall, the results of the test showed that the OnePlus 7 Pro had the best battery life, followed by the Samsung S10 Plus. The iPhone XS Max held up surprisingly well
OnePlus 7 Pro vs Samsung S10 Plus / iPhone XS Max / P30 Pro / Xiaomi Mi 9 Battery Life DRAIN TEST
The OnePlus 7 Pro, Samsung S10 Plus, iPhone XS Max, P30 Pro, and Xiaomi Mi 9 are some of the most popular smartphones on the market.
