Packaging
The packaging of the $1 case is decidedly more simplistic than the $50 case. The latter features Apple’s official silicon case, and thus the box is of a higher quality.
Flexibility
The $50 case is less flexible and does not attract as many fingerprints as the $1 case. Furthermore, it has magnets inside to work with magnetic accessories.
Buttons
The buttons on the $50 case are easier to press than those on the $1 case.
Durability
It is possible to scratch either case with a set of keys, though the marks on the $50 case are more easily removed. However, the big question remains: which case will protect the phone better?
Drop Test
To test the durability of each case, a two-meter drop test was conducted. The results showed that the $50 case had several marks, though most of them were easily removed. The only permanent damage was on the camera ring. In comparison, the $1 case provided better protection for the camera.
